This film demonstrates floating and flying and it also shows that choreography (the making of dance) can involve things other than the body. The film starts with bubbles and feathers gently dropping in and out of shot. The feet finally make and appearance coming up from below. The performer is dancing on their back with their legs in the air. The movements are mimicking a walking action and then a flying action like the wings of a bird.
Please try this at home!
Stand or sit on the spot, create a dance sequence with the feet (or the arms) that represent flying or floating. You don’t need to be on your back. Perhaps the toes or fingers could be popping imaginary bubbles that float past? Or you could create bubble shapes with your hands and make them float and dance about on the breeze? You could try dancing with your own feather throwing and catching it in your own personal space.
